Creatives are the pioneers of The Culture, they are the force that defines our time, challenge the status quo, and shape the future. It is through art that we tell our truths, amplify unheard voices, and drive the cultural shifts necessary for meaningful social and systemic change.
At Orisun Studio, we believe in the power of creativity to build communities, spark conversations, and reimagine possibilities within migrant neighbourhoods. Creativity should not only reflect the world but actively transform it. By fostering an ecosystem where talent is nurtured, knowledge is exchanged, and diverse voices lead, we strengthen the cultural foundations that ignites social, economic, and political change.
1. Community Care and creative capital
We believe that creativity is the key to solving social challenges and strengthening social cohesion. To achieve this, creatives, communities, and businesses must collaborate in a nurturing ecosystem. By making creativity economically viable and empowering creators, we can establish a sector that not only inspires but also generates jobs.
2. Transforming the creative sector through creative pioneers
We are building a future where creativity is central to people's lives and cities. With initiatives like the Homegrown or Orisun Academy, we help creative makers grow, and through projects like Hood Politics, we connect creators, businesses, and government entities to stimulate social innovation. We establish physical and digital hubs in neighborhoods where creators collaborate and develop.
By leveraging smart tools and a community-driven approach, we offer unprecedented methods, events and creative talent to foster groundbreaking projects and multidisciplinary collaborations.
3. Grounded in migrant neighbourhoods
From Schilderswijk The Hague, we cultivate a thriving community, compelling visual narratives, and an international movement that celebrates culture and creates societal value. Our approach is grounded in principles of economic viability of local creative entrepreneurs, long-term collaboration, and transformative thinking. We use forms of expression, such as design, fashion, music, film and art influenced by postcolonial migration and strongly rooted in diasporic cultural expressions.
